01The short version

  • This website sets no cookies and runs no analytics, apart from Stripe on the checkout page.
  • Payments go through Stripe. Your card details go to Stripe, never to us.
  • The Nexus app has no analytics or telemetry. Your projects, history and settings stay on your Mac.
  • The agent CLIs you run in Nexus talk to their own providers, under those providers' terms.
  • We only see what you choose to send us, such as an email.

02This website

This site is a set of static pages. Apart from Stripe on the checkout page (see Payments), it sets no cookies, runs no analytics or advertising scripts and has no tracking pixels, so there is no profile of your visit for anyone to build.

Two things still reach the network when a page loads:

  • Fonts. The typefaces (IBM Plex Mono and IBM Plex Sans) load from Google Fonts, so your browser requests them from Google's servers, which see that request and your IP address. Google's privacy policy covers that.
  • Hosting. Like any web server, our host may keep short-lived access logs (IP address, page requested, browser type, time) for security and to keep the site running. We don't use them to identify you.

The one thing this site saves is your best score in each game. It goes in your browser's local storage (not a cookie) under a key like nexus.games.typer.best, and it holds only a number. It stays in your browser and is never sent to us. Clearing this site's data removes it.

The contact form doesn't send anything to us or to a form service. It writes an email and opens it in your own mail app, where you decide whether to send it.

03The Nexus app

Nexus has no analytics, telemetry or tracking. We don't receive your code, prompts, terminal output or agent conversations.

What it keeps, on your Mac

  • Projects, panes, their names and terminal output history, so your sessions come back after a restart.
  • Chats, teammates and their memory and skills, routines, tasks and settings.

All of that lives in ~/Library/Application Support/Nexus. Secrets for the connections you add, like API tokens for MCP servers, are stored in the macOS Keychain, not in a file.

When it goes online

Nexus itself connects to the internet only for things you set up or ask for:

  • Checking for newer versions of your CLIs, when you ask it to.
  • Connections you add, each of which talks to the service it's for (GitHub, Linear, Notion and so on).
  • Pages that you or your agents open in the built-in browser.
  • SSH workspaces you set up. These use your own ssh config and keys, and Nexus stores no SSH passwords.

Voice

The Assistant's speech recognition and its spoken replies (using the Kokoro voice model) run on your Mac. Recognition never falls back to a cloud service. When the Assistant hands a request to an agent, that agent's CLI handles it like any other prompt.

Screenshots and computer use

When an agent uses the browser or computer-use tools, screenshots and page contents are captured on your Mac and handed to that agent's CLI, which can send them to its provider as part of the conversation. Computer use asks for your approval before it acts.

04Agent CLIs and other services

Nexus runs CLIs you installed, like Claude Code, Codex and Gemini CLI, signed in with your own accounts. What you type into them, and what they read from your projects, goes to their providers (Anthropic, OpenAI, Google and others) under those providers' terms and privacy policies. Nexus doesn't proxy that traffic or send it anywhere else.

The same goes for MCP servers you connect: each one talks to its own service under that service's terms. When you add more than one account for a CLI, each profile gets its own config folder on your Mac, and Nexus never asks for the passwords to those accounts.

05Payments

Payments are processed by Stripe. When you buy Pro or Lifetime, you type your card or wallet details into fields that Stripe hosts inside our checkout page. Those details go directly to Stripe and never touch Nexus servers. Stripe handles them under its own privacy policy.

What we receive from Stripe

  • Your name and email address.
  • Your billing country and ZIP or postal code.
  • The last 4 digits of your card and its brand (Visa, for example). Never the full number or the security code.
  • Your purchase history with us: plan, amounts, dates, renewals and refunds.

We use this to issue and manage your license, send receipts, help you when you contact support, and keep the tax records the law requires. We don't sell it or use it for advertising.

Stripe on the checkout page

The checkout page loads Stripe.js from js.stripe.com. To prevent fraud, Stripe may set cookies and collect information about your device and browser on that page, as described in Stripe's own privacy policy. Stripe.js loads only on the checkout pages, not anywhere else on this site. The billing portal, where you cancel, switch billing or download invoices, is run by Stripe on billing.stripe.com.

06Email

If you email us, we get your address and what you wrote. We keep it to answer you and to look back at earlier conversations about the same thing. We don't add you to a mailing list and we don't share your email with anyone.

07Children

Nexus is a tool for developers and isn't aimed at children under 13, or under the minimum age where you live. We don't knowingly collect information from them.

08Your choices

  • App data. Quit Nexus and delete ~/Library/Application Support/Nexus to remove everything it saved. Connection secrets live in your login keychain, where Keychain Access can show and remove them.
  • Email and purchase records. Ask to see or delete what we hold about you and we will, unless the law requires us to keep it (tax records, for example).
  • Your rights. Depending on where you live, for example under the GDPR or the CCPA, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or move your data, and to complain to a data protection authority. Email us to use them.

09Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top. If a change affects what the app does with your data, the release notes in the changelog will say so too.
