Built because eight terminal tabs is too many.

Running several coding agents meant a terminal, a login and a usage limit for each.

Claude Code in one tab, Codex in the next, Gemini somewhere behind. Too much of the day went to finding the right window.

So we built one native Mac window for all of them. It keeps your sessions and switches accounts when one runs out.

Nexus doesn't resell AI. You bring your agents, or use free models through OpenCode.

It's early: 0.5.0 shipped in October 2026. The changelog has the rest.

Roughly how it looked before. Names changed to protect the tabs.

$ man nexus --principles

Principles

Each one is something you can check in the app.

  1. Nothing runs without you

    Nexus never installs or updates anything without your click. Computer use asks first.

  2. No invented numbers

    Missing data shows as unavailable, never as a guess.

  3. Local first

    No analytics or telemetry. Your data stays on your Mac, secrets in the Keychain.

  4. Deletes go to the Trash

    Deleted things go to the macOS Trash. Worktrees with edits are never deleted.

  5. Native and fast

    SwiftUI and AppKit, not Electron. Real terminals drawn with Metal.

  6. Bring your own agents

    Your CLIs use your own accounts, the same CLIs you run anywhere. Nothing to migrate.

$ nexus --version --verbose

Under the hood

A Swift app, built for the Mac.

Terminals are SwiftTerm, drawn with Metal. Voice is Kokoro, on your Mac. Tools reach agents over MCP.
